The small rubber blocks hold the gold and
guide it into the depressions where it settles well. Interesting heavy minerals such as garnet, zircon, etc. can also be effectively caught with the mat. It can be used with or without expanded metal and can be very well combined with other gold traps.
Pre-screening of the river sediment is not
absolutely necessary here, but it is useful for washing fine gold. The Vortex mat works with a very low flow rate and does not clog, which
is a great advantage over other mats for fine gold washing!
